Payments

Strings and accessories

To buy strings or accessories, simply add the product(s) you would like to buy to the shopping cart and use the online checkout process. In the payment terminal, you can choose to pay by bank transfer, Visa, Mastercard or VIPPS. Your order will be fulfilled and sent to you within 1-3 business days after the checkout process has been completed.

When purchasing strings or other accessories with the checkout process on our website, we currently only accept payments in Norwegian kroner (NOK). We hope to expand the number of currencies that customers can pay in in the future. Please contact us if this is a problem for you and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Fiddles and bows

Due to the high value of fiddles and bows, we have a separate payment procedure. You can choose between two payment methods:

  1. Bank transfer. This is our preferred method and the traditional way to pay for high-value instruments online. If you don't have a Norwegian or European bank account, you can use a service like Wise, Revolut or Paypal to send the funds to our bank account.
  2. SumUp Payment Link. We will send you a secure payment link which will allow you to pay by Visa, Vpay, Mastercard, Maestro, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and JCB.

For your convenience, we accept payments for fiddles in bows in the following four currencies: Norwegian Kroner (NOK), Euro (EUR), British Pounds (GBP) and United States Dollars (USD). 

Here is the procedure for buying a fiddle or bow:

  1. Send us a message here or send an email to info@hardangerfiddles.com to let us know you're interested in purchasing an instrument or bow. Please let us know your preferred payment method
  2. We will calculate the total payment and send you an invoice along with information for your preferred payment method.
  3. You can then make your payment online.
  4. Once your payment has been received, we will safely package your instrument and ship it to you within 1-3 days. Once it has been handed over to the carrier, we will send you tracking information so that you can follow your package on its way to you. 

Customers who pick up the instrument in person can pay in advance by bank transfer, or pay on the spot with a contactless card reader or Sumup payment link.

Currencies

For your convenience, we display the products on our website in multiple currencies. For the purchase of instruments and bows, we currently accept payments in the following currencies:

  • Norwegian Kroner (NOK)
  • Euro (EUR)
  • British Pounds (GBP)
  • United States Dollars (USD)

Shipping costs

For all products, domestic and international shipping costs are selected, calculated and paid during the check-out process. 

List of Eligible Countries

We currently only ship to Norway. But don't worry, we are working very hard to expand this list to EU and North America very soon. Just contact us here or send an email to info@hardangerfiddles.com and we will try to help.

Shipment Processing Time

All orders are processed within 1-3 business days once payment has been received. Orders are not shipped or delivered on weekends or Norwegian public holidays. Your instrument will be shipped to you immediately after payment has been received and your instrument has been packaged for shipping. Tracking information from the carrier will be sent to you, along with the expected delivery date / time, as soon as it is available. Please be patient will the instrument is underway to you and consult the tracking information regularly for updates.

Insurance and damages

Our instrument insurance covers any damages or losses that may occur on the way to you. If you decide to the return the instrument to us, our insurance will also cover any damages that occur on the way back to Oslo Hardanger Fiddles. If you return your instrument within the 14-Day Trial Period, then our insurance also covers damages that occur while shipping an instrument back to us for a return / refund. However, you must package it in exactly the same way that we sent it to you. If an instrument occurs damage on its way back to us for return and it was not packaged in the exact same way that we sent it to you, all damages must be covered by the customer. We are not responsible for damages to improperly packed instruments that occur while shipping.

Shipping Address

It is very important that you carefully fill out the shipping address information in the checkout form. Oslo Hardanger Fiddles is not responsible for covering any lost or stolen instruments or other products due to incorreclty completed addresses.

Customs, Duties & Taxes

Oslo Hardanger Fiddles is not responsible for any customs and taxes applied to your order. All fees imposed during or after shipping are the responsibility of the customer. It is very important that you fully understand which customs, duties or taxes you must pay to import our product to you before completing your order. As we have customers from all over the world, we cannot help you understand what additional taxes or fees you will need to pay once the instrument has been sent.

Keep original packaging for returns

Oslo Hardanger Fiddles carefully prepares your instrument with special packaging to minimize the risk of damage during shipping. When you open your instrument for the first time, please take a photo of how it was packaged for your own records and please keep all of the original packaging. If you return your instrument within the 14-Day Trial Period, then you must package it exactly the same way that we sent it to you. If a returned instrument occurs damages during shipping and it was not properly packaged, all damages must be covered by the customer. We are not responsible for damages to improperly packed instruments that occur while shipping.

Instrument damage during shipping

Oslo Hardanger Fiddles carefully packages your instrument to prevent damange during shipping. While hundreds of fragile and valuable instruments are succesfully sent everyday like this all over the world, sometimes damages do occur. Once your instrument arrives, please carefully inspect it. If you find any damages, please send clear photos of the damage to info@hardangerfiddles.com. We will then provide you with return instructions. If the instrument arrives to you damaged or broken, then Oslo Hardanger Fiddles will cover all return costs and provide reimbursement accordingly.

If you return your instrument within the 14-Day Trial Period, then our insurance also covers damages that occur while shipping an instrument back to us for a return / refund.
