This is a wonderful fiddle by award-winning maker, Oskar Stuveseth. This gorgeous fiddle has a powerful, balanced and characteristic sound. The fiddle has good projection and a good dynamic range. We think the highlight of this fiddle is its stunning mother-of-pearl inlays and its singing sound.

This fiddle has been inspected, repaired and made ready to play by respected Norwegian fiddle maker, Ottar Kåsa. The fiddle has new Rudi Fanitullen top and understrings, and a new Hardingen E-string.

Oskar Stuveseth (1927-2018) was a notable Norwegian maker known for his Hardanger fiddles. Stuveseth achieved recognition through his award-winning work, with his Hardanger fiddles securing two silver medals at the 2002 Landskappleiken instrument maker's competition. Thanks to the consistency and precision of his work, Stuveseth quickly gained a reputation as one of the better fiddle makers of the 20th and early 21st centuries. Alongside his fiddle-making, Stuveseth was an enthousiastic folk musician and was an active member of the Eiker Spellemannslag for over 25 years.
