This is an elegant bow from the school of Nicolas Maire, one of the greatest schools of bow making. The bow is unstamped but made by a very talented bow maker, as Pierre Guillaume notes in the certificate of authenticity that accompanies this bow. On the heavy side at 62.2 grams, it produces a big and rich tone but still manages to feel light, agile and responsive in the hands of the player. Despite its heavier weight, the bow excels as delicate, emotional passages. A surprising and very interesting choice for violinists and Hardanger fiddle players alike!
